AUDITIONS FAQ
AUDITIONS FAQ
Do we need to register in advance for auditions?
Yes! All dancers must be registered in advance to participate in the audition intensive and group audition.
Can we request a specific audition time?
Unfortunately, no. Audition times are assigned to keep the process organized and fair. Times will be posted at pick-up on the first day of the intensive.
What if my dancer has to miss a day of the audition intensive?
We strongly encourage full attendance to ensure dancers are fairly evaluated. If a makeup is absolutely necessary, a fee will be charged ($110 for ages 8+, $85 for ages 4–7) to cover private instruction, judging, and admin costs.
What should my dancer wear?
Each age group has a specific dress code. Please refer to the dress code listed in the details above for what to wear on each day. Hair should be slicked back in a bun.
What should we bring?
-
Water bottle
-
Nut-free snacks or light meal
-
All required dance shoes (ballet, jazz, tap)
Label everything with your dancer’s name!
How are dancers evaluated?
Dancers are evaluated on technique, style, execution, performance, and ability to retain choreography. If applicable, prior season work ethic, classroom attitude, and attendance will also be considered.
Will we find out results right away?
Company placements will be announced after all auditions have concluded and scores have been reviewed- typically 1-2 weeks after. You will receive an email with next steps once decisions are finalized.
Can parents watch the audition?
Auditions and intensives are closed to observers. We want dancers to focus and give their best effort in a class-like environment.
